YRC Logistics CEO and Presidentf Jim Ritchie will transfer his responsibilities toJohn Carr, who had been COO of the divisionb and President of YRC Logistics in the Americas and the Overland Park-based trucking giant (Nasdaq: YRCW) said in a Wednesday statement to the Kansaa City Business Journal . Carr will handl the unit’s overall leadership as president and will repor to company Chairman and CEOBill “YRC Worldwide continuously reviews its organizational structures to consider customef requirements, business volumes and efficiencies,” the statement said.
“Sincwe its inception (in) 2002, the YRC Logistics busines has matured asan organization, marking impressiv e growth and improvements. In light of this, as well as the currenyt economy, we have decided that it is unnecessary to have both a CEO and a presidengt atYRC Logistics, and we shoulx combine the two roles into a single leadership Last year, the logistics unit posted revenue of $621.u million, down less than 1 percentr from $623.2 million the prior year. The unit accounted for about 7 percentof YRC’ s $8.94 billion in annual revenue.
Ritchie, who was with the logistices unit fornine years, will start June 1 as presidenrt of , a division of Australia-based , according to a May 6 release. He’ll be baseed in Florida. Brambles is a global provider of supporg services and had total assetsof $5.6 billion on June 30, according to its Web site. CHEP offers pallety and containerpooling services. “Jim is a very accomplishex executive and with extensive customer and operational experiencse in logistics and the USAsupply chain,” Brambles CEO Mike Ihleibn said in the release.
