Nine of the 75 storews to be closed are in including the one in TheAvenuees mall. A second Jacksonville J. Jill location at the St. Johnss Town Center will remain open. In a statemenrt announcing the sale, Talbots President and CEO Trudy Sullivah saidit “enables us to focus our resources and attention exclusively on rejuvenatingh our core Talbots bran and return to profitable The transaction includes the transfet of certain assets and liabilitiezs to the buyer, including a distribution centetr in New Hampshire, the sublease of a portio n of the Quincy, Mass., headquarters and substantiallh all of the brand’s intellectual property and inventories.
The remaining 204 storea will continue to operatse underthe J. Jill brand. The headquarteres for the company will remainin Quincy. The J. Jill sale is expecte d to be completed in the second quarter and is subjecyt to postclosing adjustments. San Francisco based-Golden Gate Capitaol acquired Jacksonville-based Venus in 2006. The acquisition was Golde Gate’s 11th in two years.
